Lior Samuelson has been the CYREN chairman since early 2011 and was named CEO in November 2013. He is the founder and managing partner of Mercator Capital, a merchant bank specializing in advising and investing in the technology and telecom sectors. Lior has served as the chairman of Deltathree, president and CEO of PricewaterhouseCoopers Securities, as well as a managing partner with KPMG and holding senior management position at Booz, Allen & Hamilton. He earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in economics from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
Michael Myshrall joined CYREN in 2011 serving as vice president of financial planning & analysis and vice president of corporate development. He brings two decades of investment banking, business development and technology experience. Prior to joining CYREN, he focused on technology strategy, financial advisory and mergers and acquisitions, first with Mercator Capital and more recently with Trilos Ventures. Michael previously held various roles with Nortel, Newbridge Networks, Corvis, and Civcom. He holds a degree in electrical engineering from the University of New Brunswick and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Lior Kohavi brings more than 20 years of experience as a technology executive to Cyren. He previously served as a business strategy architect at Microsoft and vice president of product management and strategy at Whale Communications. He led the development of cryptographic security at Cylink and served as head of the Israel Air Force’s Network and Operations Systems Department. Lior received his Executive MBA from Tel Aviv University and a degree in computer science from Bar-Ilan University.
Ben Carmi is responsible for developing and delivering CYREN’s product vision, as well as overseeing the company’s global product management teams. He joins CYREN with more than 13 years of product leadership experience, most recently as vice president of product management at Radware. He has also held key product management roles at Check Point Software and RiT Technologies. Ben graduated from Tel Aviv University with a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering and a master’s degree in public policy.
A seasoned sales executive with a track record of success at global security leaders, DiPietro is responsible for scaling CYREN’s sales and channel organization and accelerating growth in North America. Before joining CYREN, DiPietro was responsible for establishing and growing Zscaler’s mid-market sales organization. Prior to that, he ran the mid-market sales organizations for Authentic8, Google, and Postini. DiPietro is based in CYREN’s new Austin, Texas office.
Atif is responsible for overseeing sales, services, strategic channels and alliances in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region for Cyren, as well as driving additional business in new EMEA territories. With more than 20 years of experience in the security space, Ahmed most recently served in senior sales leadership positions at AppSense, Websense and Check Point Software. He also previously held sales management roles in the security business unit at Azlan and at Acer UK.
Tomer is responsible for growing Cyren’s Threat Intelligence Services business, delivering a suite of cloud-based security services to device manufacturers, security vendors and service providers worldwide. He previously served as CYREN’s vice president of EMEA sales, as well as global director of sales engineering. Prior to joining CYREN in 2010, he served in various pre-sales and engineering roles at NICE Systems, Allot Communications and PwC. Tomer has a BA in political science and International affairs from the Israeli Open University and an MBA is from the Ruppin Academic Center.
Dan Maier is responsible for CYREN’s global marketing activities, including corporate marketing, product marketing, demand generation and public relations. He has more than two decades of experience in senior marketing roles in the technology sector, most recently serving as senior director of product marketing at Zscaler. He previously held vice president of marketing positions at Tumbleweed, Convirture and DecisionView, among others. Dan holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Stanford University and an MBA from UCLA.
As Vice President and General Manager, Einat oversees CYREN's EmailSecurity business unit, focusing on product development and go-to-market strategies. She joined CYREN in 2012, and has managed the product development of our WebSecurity and Anti-Malware services. Prior to CYREN, she oversaw product management and authentication with SafeNet, and research and development activities with SanDisk. Einat holds a degree in Computer Science from the Academic College of Tel-Aviv-Yaffo.
In 1996, Sigurdur (“Siggi”) Stefnisson joined Frisk, which was acquired by CYREN in 2012. He contributed to the development of numerous cybersecurity innovations, and has become an authority in the field of advanced threat protection. Siggi oversees Cyren’s Advanced Threat Lab and malware research, which is integral in our development of next-generation cybersecurity solutions. He is active in the global security community as a reporter for the Wildlist Organization and as a member of CARO (Computer Antivirus Research Organization) whose mission is to research and study malware.
With deep cloud security technical expertise and problem solving skills, Tamir is responsible for CYREN’s global support, deployment and customer success teams. He has previously served as director of security solutions, director of technical services, and director of professional services at CYREN over the past 13 years. Prior to joining the company, Tamir spent six years in various system administrator and IT manager roles. Tamir is based in CYREN’s Toronto office.
Eva Markowitz, SPHR, SWP, SHRM-SCP joined CYREN as VP, Human Resources in October 2013. With 16 years of Human Resource leadership, Eva is focused on the management and development of CYREN's most valuable asset: its employees. Prior to joining CYREN, she worked as Human Resources Director for the Analysis Research Planning Corporation (ARPC). In addition, she has held positions with Thomas & Herbert Consulting, LLC, and SteelCloud. Eva received her B.A. from the University of Maryland.
Spindel is responsible for all legal, regulatory, compliance, and corporate governance functions for CYREN. Before joining CYREN, he was a partner at Yigal Arnon & Co., one of Israel’s leading law firms. Prior to joining that, he practiced corporate and securities law for a number of years at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP and Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg LLP, and also served as internal counsel for a private equity firm. He received a joint JD/MBA degree from Osgoode Hall Law School/Schulich School of Business in Toronto. Spindel is based in CYREN’s Israel office.
